To me I think that this whakatauki means:
Some people in one of the houses are healthy and well being so that they are alright and the other people in the other house is not doing well like for example they might be sick or not well. For me I know that if I get stuck on something I can get help. Therefore I will achieve excellence at my house by always getting support and help when I am stuck.
